Pepes Mexican Food in Oxnard

My top spot for Mexican food. It was so appetizing. Had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again. The bill won't shock you. They have a lot of good reviews for a reason.

Pepe's has changed just a bit. Prices have gone up. Food portions have gotton smaller. Taste was not on it today. I used to come out of my way from Frazier Park. Not no more

The cashier guy's attitude was meanThey don't serve water in a cup because water is bad it's the same water they use to cook

I wish for the old Pepe's. Do I really have to say anymore than that? There just isn't the same love. I'll save my money unless it's convenient to eat there and I'm pressed for time. This whiteboy makes better Asada.

An amazing hidden little gem. Reasonably priced excellent quality Mexican food. Unbelievable Services well they came and checked on us numerous times and had a great attitude. Easy parking.

Went on a trip with my buddy to SoCal drove all the to Oxnard from San Diego to try this place hes always talking about how he would eat amazing fish tacos here while growing up in Ventura. I ordered three fish tacos, the tacos were really good I love the spicy sauce they come with it goes well with the tacos. As far as the fish, it had good flavor just felt like it had been reheated. Whether or not it was it doesn't really matter I like the flavor of try again next time I find myself up in Oxnard/Ventura area.

Too expensive! $7 for burrito.A $1.00 more for pico de gallo!? $8 for bean, rice, cheese. Yikes!

Beach Taco Shack style food. Outdoor seating only. Shrimp taco was great, just enough spicy flavor. I could not eat the fish tacos I ordered, they were deep fried with batter, thus not gluten free.

It's a great little place to consume a burrito or a taco and be on your way to the beach.

I used to come here all of the time growing up and it was good, but times have changed! I stopped by today to grab some nachos and was extremely disappointed! $6 for small asada nachos. I don't mind paying for good food, but this was NOT good! They microwaved the nachos, so the chips were nice and stale. The toppings were not any better. Another customer was asking for little street tacos and was told they are $2 each (that person just walked away aftet hearing the price). While I waited for them to finish microwaving my nacho I watched the flies crawling all over the inside of the glass Windows and couldn't help but wonder what else they were crawling on in there. Definately won't be back!

Well done, Señor Pepe, well done. Delicious mexi lunches made with love. Beware the pigeons, they will carry away your chips and small children to be devoured.

Great Mexican dishes and a perfect beach location. I've never been disappointed and there has always been seating outside.

Best burritos in Oxnard, always eat there when in the area. There spices and salsa make the burritos taste so good.

It's the place all the Silver Strand locals go to get some good food.

Basically these guys are overcharging and under delivering on there food I ordered a carne asada burrito and got more rice and beans than meat The burrito cost $ 9.00 and he charged me $13.00 I asked about the discrepancy and he told me that he is paying 3 times more for meat I asked him where the new price is not listed on the food and he told me it is and so I checked and it’s notSo if you want to be disappointed and overcharged This is the spot for you I try to be pragmatic about this kind of stuff but is is down right scandalous O and on a CVID-19 note none of them had mask or gloves on so keep that in mind when ordering takeout Not trying to hate on these guys but that my truth.

Its a little taco shack next to the beach..they have tacos and burittos. Im not sure why people rave about it, but its kind of bland and not very good. However, its easy and convenient.

I have been eating at Pepe's for 20 years and it's still the same. I had fish, pastor, and carnitas tacos. Classic Mexican food walking distance to the beach. Plenty of parking. Cash only.

Great Fish tacos and wonderfully friendly customer service! The owner used Red Snapper for the fish in the tacos, excellent spice and flavor.

Great fish Tacos 🌮 but The Older guy running the place either doesn’t know how to count change or Intentionally short changes me every time. He also is constantly changing the price on every visit, kinda like a Gas ⛽️ Station. Heads up!!! Carlos

Overly priced not too tastey. Ordered tacos, they didn't have cilantro, onions, etc. They only had lots of lettuce and a bit of cheese. No Mexican flavor. Burrito was the same. Only two soft tacos and one $13 burrito, total $23. For take out, no napkins, or salsa; because the price of meat and beans have gone up! Oh well their sign did say ask for prices. I should have asked. Won't be going there again!

I ordered the carnitas burrito and it was perfect. The salsa was fresh and the service was cordial. It's a stand so seating is outside and public; the tables need a little love. But based on the food, they did really well.
